Safe Driver Drivers Education Services

Register online for private lessons, high school classroom and behind-the-wheel training at Safe Driver Drivers Education, an online driving school in Cedar Rapids, IA.

  • Teen Driver Education

    Classes will be held in a hybrid/blended format with 2-3 in-person sessions with the balance of the course to be completed independently online via Canvas. Behind-the-wheel lesson availability will be posted approximately two weeks before the first day of class.

    • In-person/Virtual Classroom Instruction
    • 6-hour instructor taught Behind-the-Wheel
    • Certificate of Completion

    After all requirements are met, students will receive a "Certificate of Completion," making them eligible to receive their Minor School Permit or Graduated Driver's License. Once a $220 deposit is made, students can schedule driving lessons when the schedule is complete.  Driving lessons occur outside class on non-class days, evenings, and weekends. 

  • Adult Private/High School Student Refresher Lesson

    This package is for adolescents and adults who want extra instruction before driving independently.  

    Driving skills will be reviewed in the following settings:

    • City
    • Suburban
    • Downtown
    • Parking
    • Highway/interstate

    Home pick-up and drop-off is available

  • Parent Assist Driver Education

    Two Behind-the-Wheel Lessons & Hybrid Classroom Instruction

    • The classroom portion of the course will be a hybrid/blended format with 2-3 in-person sessions with the balance of the course completed independently online via Canvas. 
    • Two behind-the-wheel lessons will be taught by Mr. Rolwes.  This is typically the first and last lesson. 
    • Parents assist with the other four lessons.  Instructions will be emailed regarding the parental assistance portion prior to the beginning of the course. Parents may be required to record portions of each lesson for instructor review. 
    • Certificate of Completion submitted to Iowa D.O.T upon completion of all requirements

The classroom portion of the course will be conducted in a hybrid/blended format. There will be two in-person (face-to-face) meetings on Monday, February 23rd, and Monday, April 6th from 6:00-7:15 pm. The online portion of the course will be asynchronous where students will complete lessons on Canvas. All class assignments and activities will need to be finished by April 30th.
